While it is far from cool outside, it seems as though we may be getting our lovely evenings back. The storms roll in around late afternoon and block the sun as it sets in the west, giving us a break from its heat. Tonight there was even a cool breeze, so we ventured out of summer hibernation and went for a walk to the park.
The girls were thrilled to go for a ride! We haven't gone on very many walks with Brooklyn, and her refusal to walk keeps us away from parks for the most part. London and Brooklyn just chatter with each other and hold hands...it is so cute to see them together.
Jackson has NOT been interested in riding a bike. He got this one for his 4th birthday, and I thought he would be thrilled with it. Nope. I think he's taken it for a spin *maybe* 5 or 6 times. He just isn't in to it. So, we are making it a point to give him more opportunities to practice. At this point, we are thinking about just ditching the training wheels and teaching him to ride on his own. He like riding for about 10 minutes, then he is done. Luckily the park is two houses down!
Last year, London couldn't go down the slide on her own, and was afraid to climb the structure. Not anymore! As soon as we got there, she was off! She went down the slide 46 times, at least, and had a blast.
It was so nice to get out and play, finally! The kids had a great time, and it was a nice taste of the activities we will soon be able to do as soon as it cools off!
